A pool leak detection website built to drive phone calls from homeowners with leaking pools — not just list services.
The Problem
- A specialized pool leak detection company with 12+ years experience — but a website that looked like a generic pool service menu instead of a "stop your leak NOW" solution
- No urgency messaging for a problem that causes daily water loss, chemical imbalance, and pump damage
- "One visit, we fix it" differentiator buried instead of positioned as the hero
- Clear 3-step process existed but wasn't driving action
- No positioning as "specialists" vs. "pool companies that also do leak detection"
- Phone number not positioned as the primary CTA for an urgent problem
What We Did
- Positioned specialization as the #1 differentiator — "We specialize in pool leak detection" vs. "pool companies that also do leaks"
- Made urgency the hero — water loss, pump damage, chemical imbalance = daily costs that add up
- Positioned "one visit, we fix it" as the competitive advantage — no multiple appointments, no guessing games
- Built the 3-step process as a conversion funnel — call → detect → fix — with the phone number as step 1
- Added "no drain needed" messaging — most pool owners fear draining, we addressed it upfront
- Made the phone number impossible to miss — this is a call-now problem, not a browse-later problem
The Result
- Specialization positioned as competitive advantage vs. generalist pool companies
- Urgency messaging driving immediate calls
- "One visit" differentiator front and center
- 3-step process structured as conversion path with phone CTA
- "No drain needed" addressing homeowner fears
- Mobile-optimized with click-to-call for pool emergencies

The Challenge
Smart Leak Locator has something most pool companies don't: specialization and one-visit fixes.
They're not a pool cleaning company that "also does leak detection." They're leak detection specialists with 12+ years of experience who can find AND fix a leak in one visit — often without draining the pool. Most pool owners don't know this is rare.
But the website wasn't communicating any of that. It listed services like a menu. The "one visit" differentiator was buried. And urgency — the daily cost of water loss, chemical imbalance, and pump damage — wasn't driving action.
The bottom line: A pool leak is a daily-cost problem. The longer it leaks, the more it costs. The site needed to communicate urgency and make the phone number the obvious next step.
Our Approach
Specialization vs. Generalists
Most pool companies do leak detection as an add-on service. Smart Leak Locator ONLY does leak detection. We positioned this as a competitive advantage: "Pool companies do pools. We do leaks. That's why we find what they miss."
Urgency First, Services Second
A leaking pool costs money every day:
- Water loss = higher water bills
- Chemical imbalance = more chemicals needed
- Pump running dry = equipment damage
We made urgency the hero message. This isn't a "schedule when convenient" problem. It's a "stop the leak before your pump burns out" problem.
One Visit, We Fix It
The #1 fear pool owners have: "How many appointments will this take?" Smart Leak Locator can find AND fix in one visit. We positioned this as the competitive advantage it is: "One call. One visit. Leak fixed."
No Drain Needed
The #2 fear pool owners have: "Will I have to drain my pool?" Most pool owners don't know most leaks can be fixed without draining. We addressed this fear upfront: "In most cases, you won't have to drain your pool."
3-Step Process = Conversion Funnel
The existing 3-step process (call → detect → fix) was perfect — we just needed to make it drive action:
- Call (407) 307-2735 — Step 1 is the phone number
- Leak Detection — We find it
- Leak Solution — We fix it, often in one visit
What We Built
- Homepage — Urgency hero ("stop your leak NOW"), specialization differentiator, "one visit, we fix it" promise, 3-step process with phone as step 1
- Services Page — Each service (skimmer replacement, light niche, pipe repair, equipment installation, resurfacing, tile, heat pump, gas heater, LED lights, acid wash) structured as problem → detection → solution
- Urgency Messaging — Water loss, chemical imbalance, pump damage = daily costs that add up
- Specialization Positioning — "We specialize in pool leak detection" vs. "pool companies that also do leaks"
- One-Visit Promise — "We can usually find and fix the leak in one visit" — front and center
- No Drain Reassurance — "In most instances, you won't have to drain your pool"
- Phone Number as Primary CTA — Click-to-call on every page, because this is a call-now problem
Key Results
- Specialization positioned as competitive advantage — Leak detection specialists vs. generalist pool companies
- Urgency messaging driving immediate calls — Daily costs of leaks = call now, not browse later
- "One visit" differentiator front and center — No multiple appointments, no guessing games
- "No drain needed" addressing homeowner fears — Most pool owners don't know this is possible
- 3-step process as conversion funnel — Call → detect → fix, with phone number as step 1
- Mobile-optimized for pool emergencies — Click-to-call for homeowners with leaking pools
For leak detection, the only metric that matters: phone calls from homeowners with leaking pools. Everything we built serves that goal.
About JVR
This is how JVR builds service websites that drive calls — not just list services.
Most leak detection websites look like pool service menus. JVR finds what actually drives decisions — urgency, specialization, and one-visit fixes — and builds the site around that truth. Pool owners don't browse services. They have a leaking pool and want it fixed NOW. We make sure they call you first.
Your competitor's website lists services. Yours should say "one call, one visit, leak fixed" and make the phone number impossible to miss. If it doesn't, you're losing calls to pool companies that answer the phone.
